by: solitude_peace - Jun 26 2008, 3:52PM Now I've gone and done it!
After finishing the MS150 I've come to the decision that I'd like to ride in a group. I paired up with another rider for the whole thing, but when those Amgen guys cruised past us we just couldn't resist. We rode with them for about 30 min, smiles from ear to ear.
Any groups riding in the Providence area?

by: mikerenz - May 29 2008, 9:37AM I haven't successfully directly transfered maps from the watch to mapmayrun. It sees the watch in the garmin communicator, but stays at 0% for transferred. I think that is due to the watch being wirelessly connected to the computer.
I made a file conversion tool though to make it possible for me. If you export your run from Garmin Training Center into a .tcx file...you can use my tool if you like:
www.michaelrenz.com/tcx/
You simply upload the file, and it'll create a .gpx that mapmyrun can import, and will auto-prompt you to save the file. I don't mind if others use this while mapmyrun figures out how to make it work automatically. :)

by: hjosien - May 24 2008, 3:05PM I just got my new gadget too yesterday and after a while I figured it out.
Note: you need to have a profile on Mapmyrun. I also noticed that installing
the complete file from the Garmin site software update (the one including
BOTH ANT driver and Garmin training software, ~20 MB) was the way to get a smooth
synchronization between the watch and the PC INCLUDING the Garmin training
Center.
OPTION 1: From Mapmyrun to the Forerunner via Garmin Training
Center:
a) Click on "Map new run" and draw your course. Then on the map
click "Save/save to my profile". Give it a name, just answer the
questions on step 1, no need to go further.
b) Click on "My runs" all above the screen and select the course
you created. On the map now click "Save/Save as a Garmin course".
Save it as your like on your PC.
c) Open Garmin training center. Select “File/import/courses”. Browse to the
file on your PC then OK. To transfer your course to your watch then click on
the send to your device button, 2 buttons on the right of the course button.
OPTION2: from the Forerunner to Mapmyrun: Dude I can't find it, I
thought I saw some import button somewhere on that website at some
point ! :-0

by: solitude_peace - May 4 2008, 3:39PM I'm not sure what the actual mechanism is but I find them helpful during rides (I haven't noticed any post-ride effect)

by: solitude_peace - May 4 2008, 3:35PM Wow! Thank you for such a neat tool. I hope others can find this and start to map our area out as much as possible.
I really haven't found a BAD place to ride around Providence, RI, just a few roads that could use some work. Even those chopped up roads can be avoided with a little thought before riding.
I'll keep my eye out for others from the NE posting routes here. Stay safe!

by: Floridan - May 2 2008, 11:27AM Okay brother. We got the point. You're not crazy about the site. So stop lurking.
By the way, did you try sending and e-mail vis the Contact us Link?
http://www.mapmyrun.com/contact_us
Just curious.

by: EJL - May 2 2008, 11:03AM There is no one to help when the system fails.
I spent hours entering routes that only partially get posted. This is ridiculous and there is no "CONTACT" site.
Don't waste your time with MAP MY RIDE.
